John Blackman Elected Chair of AAA Washington's Board of Trustees
AAA Washington Board Elects 2009 Officers, Names New Board Member
AAA Washington, the AAA affiliate and premier provider of roadside assistance in Washington and northern Idaho, is pleased to announce its 2009 Board of Trustees officers and newly elected board members.
John Blackman (Seattle), chairman and former CEO of Seattle-based Argosy Cruises, was elected chairman. Prior to Argosy Cruises, Blackman was senior VP of Marketing and Sales at Holland America Line and spent 32 years with United Airlines where he held several senior executive marketing positions.
Steve Matsko (Spokane), a certified financial planner with Quantum Financial Planning Services and retired U.S. Bank of Washington executive, was elected vice chairman. Marilyn Batt Dunn, director of Strategic Initiatives for UW Medicine and previously Executive Director for the US Olympic Committee, was elected treasurer.
Charles Liekweg (Kirkland) was re-elected president and CEO of AAA Washington, a position he has held since 1996.
Newly elected to the board was Kerry Bivens (Tacoma), president of Toyota of Puyallup and Kia of Puyallup. She also is president of the Western Washington Toyota Dealer Advertising Association.
Returning board members are Bruce Bixler (Spokane), director of Moss Adams LLP, Spokane office;Robert Flowers (Seattle), retired executive of Washington Mutual Bank; Joanne Harrell (Seattle), general manager, Executive Relationship Program for the Microsoft Corporation; William Lampson (Pasco), president of Lampson International; Dennis Okamoto (Seattle), retired executive of U.S. West Communications; Patrick F. Patrick (Seattle), retired executive of Washington Federal Savings; and Richard Rubens (Spokane), president of Metallic Arts, Inc.
Retiring from the board are Edward Wack (Shelton), retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Olympia Federal Savings and Loan Association; and James Will (Tacoma), President of Titus-Will Enterprises and former President of TAM Engineering Corp.
