Ten Washington Students Win Top AAA School Safety Patrol Award
Patrollers to Receive Award at May 18 Mariners Game
Bellevue, WA (May 14, 2007) – Ten outstanding AAA School Safety Patrollers from Washington will be inducted into the 2007 AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame this Friday, May 18, for their exceptional dedication to the safety of their classmates.
Each year, AAA Washington and a panel of judges from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction choose 10 outstanding patrollers from among thousands in Washington to induct into the AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame. The nomination process consists of essay questions both the patroller and their advisor must complete about the patroller’s performance as role model. Patrollers are judged on their leadership skills, dedication to traffic safety, citizenship and contributions to their school safety patrol.
The 10 Hall of Fame inductees will be honored during an award ceremony at Safeco Field on May 18. After the award ceremony the 10 patrollers will be taken down onto the field and recognized for their achievement before the crowd assembled to watch the Mariners play the San Diego Padres. After the pre-game ceremony the patrollers and their guests will enjoy dinner and the game from a private suite. AAA presents each patroller with a plaque and a $50 gift check for their accomplishment.
