When the splendors of spring are in full bloom in the Central America region, it’s a fine time to transit the Panama Canal. Fly to Ft. Lauderdale and spend one night. Set sail for Oranjestad, Aruba, where you can visit an exciting casino or shop for souvenirs. Spend a day transiting the three sets of locks of the Panama Canal, taking approximately eight to 10 hours to complete your journey through this man-made wonder. The next day, find steaming volcanoes, lush rainforests and nearly half of all the animal species on earth in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica. The quaint town of Corinto, Nicaragua, follows, as well as a day in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala. Then enjoy a day each for shopping, exploring and mingling with the locals in the Mexican resort towns of Puerto Chiapas, Santa Cruz Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. Next, a day to explore the sights of San Diego, California (San Diego Zoo, Coronado Island, Old Town), is in store. Then spend some time in Astoria, Oregon, where you can take in the lush greenery and splendid coastline. Finally, spend a day each in charming Victoria, and cosmopolitan Vancouver, British Columbia. End your cruise in Seattle.
